The trail goes along the Mac Mac river just before it joins the Sabie River. It goes through blue gum plantations as well indigenous forest with giant Matumi trees alongthe river. It has open plantation road sections as well as single track section along the Matumi footpath.

The 10 kn trail will have a waterpointy at 5 km.
